Trap, Neuter & Return
Volunteers in Auburn, New York, working to cut down on the overpopulation of community cats in the City.

This friendly boy has his ear tipped, a sign that he has been neutered.
Community Cats
Community cats are homeless, but not always feral. Many in Auburn are friendly, having been cared for by local residents their entire lives.
Many community cats are lost or abandoned pets, and many more are the offspring of unneutered pets.
Property damage & quality of life
Unfixed male cats fight and mark territory. Residents are upset to see homeless cats and kittens everywhere.
Exponential population growth
Two unfixed cats can produce thousands of offspring over the course of their lives (even with the ~25% survival rate for stray kittens).
Public health concerns
Unmanaged cat colonies can spread rabies and distemper. We provide vaccinations to the cats we trap, neuter and return.
Local shelters are full
Rescues, fosters, and shelters around Auburn are suffering from cat overpopulation.
TNR efforts are limited
Auburn Community Cats TNR does not rehome cats. We do not have locations to bring cats.
One part of the solution
Our work proves itself over time, as the number of stray kittens is reduced year after year.
Trapping Locations
We work across the entire city. We keep specific locations private.
